PROFILE 柳川芳命 1977年よりアルト・サックスによる即興演奏を開始。日本天狗党との交流、デレクベイリー(g)のワークショップ、ギャラリーでのソロコンサートを経て、82年より名古屋近辺の即興演奏家たちとセッションやライヴを行う。88年 『25のテロル』、90年『見えるものと見えないもの』など、ソロをカセットにて発表。91年から92年にかけて渋谷ジァンジァンにてシリーズ『地と図』を開催。91年12月ソロ作品『地と図 '91』(Art Union)を発表。90年以降は、主に岡崎豊廣、木村富士夫、清川桂史らとインプロヴィゼーション＝ノイズ・バンド、ディスロケーションで活動。同時期に鈴木茂流(b)、松田和彦(g)とサマーディを結成。94年4月にソロ作品『夷狄』(極音舎, カセット)とディスロケーションの1st CD 『Peak To Peak』(P.S.F. Records, Japan)を発表。同年には映画『エンドレス・ワルツ』(監督・若松孝二)で、故阿部薫役・町田康（町蔵）のサックス演奏の吹替を担当する。同年12月ディスロケーションの2nd CD 『Carve Another Notch』(Scatter, Scotland)を発表。95年サマーディによるCD『1995夏』をリリース。96年9月ディスロケーションの3rd LP 『Coyote's Call』(Fusetron, USA)を発表する。97年に書道家の故・早川大と出会い、6月には早川の書をジャケットにしたCD『邪神不死』(極音舎, Japan)を発表。98年には、三浦忠之（g)、故・早川大とともにCD『ムーンライクラピス』と、早川の書作品集『オレの精神が物質として都市と共鳴する吐死』の付録CD『無彩色の呪縛』を発表。以後、大阪の山沢輝人(ts)、京都のKei-K(as)、国近正志(ds,p,vo)らと交流。関西エリアでも活動を始める。99年には内橋和久(g)が主宰するイベント『ビヨンド・イノセンス』に出演。2000年代には、桑山清晴主宰の『Lethe Voice Festival』に出演。また、もQ（as)とのアルトサックスデュオを開始。2004年2月にはディスロケーション＋平尾義之(sax)、古田一晴（映像）にてソウル公演。11月にはもQとのデュオによるCD『GRIND THE AIR』を発表。2005年にはもQ、早川大が他界し、貴重なパートナーを失うが、名古屋の一瀬大悟（b)、稲葉一将(ts,bcl)等の若き世代のプレイヤーとのセッションを始める。 【主な共演者】日本天狗党、イトウカズヒト(vl)、故・高木元輝(sax)、故・吉沢元治(b)、宇梶晶二(sax)、羽野昌二(ds)、カンテーファン(as)、灰野敬二(g,vo)、小杉武久(vl,vo)、向井千恵(鼓弓)、メルツバウ、故・井上敬三(as)、翠川敬基(cello)、内橋和久(g)、豊住芳三郎(ds)、フェダイン（映画「エンドレスワルツ」にて）、庄子勝治(sax)、ONNYK(sax)、近藤秀秋(g)、近藤久峰(ds）、臼井康浩(g)等多数。 YANAGAWA YOSHINORI His career in saxophonist has started since 1978. After holding a few independent solo concerts by himself,he joined the Derek Baily's improvisation workshop in Nagoya,Japan in 1981 and met several underground improvisers in Japan.Taking the opportunity,he started working with some improvisers in and around Nagoya. Through the '80s he could take opportunities to play with Takagi Mototeru(ts,ss),Danny Davis(as),John Zorn(reeds)and Tom Cora(cello). From 1991 to 1992 he held a series of solo concerts titled "TEXTURE AND FIGURE" at the theater "JEAN JEAN" in Sibuya,Tokyo.Otomo Yoshihide(g,turn-table),Yoshizawa Motoharu(b), Midorikwa Keiki(cello) and Akita Masami(MERZBOW) were the guest musicians of them. The first solo CD "TEXTURE AND FIGURE'91"was released in 1991. Through the '90s Yanagawa worked with Kosugi Takehisa(vi,voice),Haino Keiji(g,voice),Toyozumi Yoshisaburo(ds),Hano Shoji(ds), Inoue Keizo(as) and so on.On the other hand he worked with a noise-improvisation band "DISLOCATION" (Okazaki Toyohiro(electronics)/Kimura Fujio(el-g)/Kiyokawa Keishi(body action,video). Their first CD"PEAK TO PEAK" was released in 1994. In same year the movie "ENDLESS WALTZ" that was a decadant love story of the free jazz saxophonist Abe Kaoru(1949-1978) and the novelist Suzuki Izumi was produced by WAKAMATSU KOJI PRODUCTION. On the movie when Machida Ko(punk-rock singer and novelist) who acted the part of Abe Kaoru played the saxophone,Yanagawa played it for him. In 1994 Yanagawa organized an improvisation band "SAMADHI" with Suzuki Shigeru(el-b) and Matsuda Kazuhiko(el-g). The CD "1995 SUMMER" was released by their independent label. In 1996 he met an eccentric calligraphist Hayakawa Wataru and they made the CD"JASHIN-FUSHI" in 1997. Yanagawa and Moqu(as)has started playing together since 2001. You can listen their saxophone duo improvisations on the newest CD"GRIND THE AIR". DISLOCATION has continued their activities. On February in 2004 the band performed in Seoul and attracted the Korean audience. |
